Hello PEEL Season!

Did you know that 90% of skin aging is caused by the sun? Sun damage can appear as brown spots, rough scaly patches of skin, raised bumps and the early onset of laugh lines and other fine wrinkles. While some of these skin conditions are a matter of genetics and age, there is no denying that too much sun exposure on unprotected skin accelerates their appearance.

So, what can be done to reverse (and more importantly prevent) the beginning of sun damage? The best defense against the sun’s harmful UV rays is to use sun protection all year round. Once the skin has suffered over exposure, the damage has been done and the ill results may not show for years to come.

To help alleviate some of the effects of sun damage on your face you may want to consider a chemical peel. A series of post–summer peels will help to gradually fade dark spots, erase fine lines and wrinkles, and smooth the overall texture of your skin, leaving you with a radiant glowing complexion just in time for the holidays! Here are a few things that you should know to help you prepare for peel season.

  • Cooler weather and limiting sun exposure help minimize possible reactions after a peel
  • Begin a consistent homecare skin regimen PRIOR to your peel to prepare your skin on a cellular level
  • A series of peels may be recommended to meet your specific goals~ Stay on schedule
  • SPF is a MUST
  • Antioxidant Serums can help boost effectiveness, repair damage, and brighten the skin
  • If it is your first peel ever, we encourage you to schedule a consultation prior to booking a peel (we will discuss what to expect during and after your service, proper aftercare for best results, etc.)

Chemical peels have many benefits and while most of the peels offered at Beauty Booth AZ have little to no side effects, it is important to comply with all pre and post care guidelines for a safe and enjoyable peel experience with effective results.
